Information we collect

We collect account details you submit, works and support requests you create, basic device and usage information, security logs, and payment records supplied by our payment processors. We do not store full payment-card numbers.

Why we use information

We use information to operate accounts and share links, render and moderate works, process purchases, answer support requests, prevent abuse, measure product reliability, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and local storage

Essential storage keeps authentication, language, theme, security, and consent preferences working. Optional analytics storage is used only after you accept it through the privacy controls shown on the site. You can change your selection at any time by clearing the saved preference and reopening the site.

Analytics

When enabled by the operator and accepted by you, Google Analytics or Plausible may process page URL, approximate location derived from IP address, browser information, device information, and interaction events. We do not intentionally place names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information in analytics URLs or events.

Advertising and Google AdSense

ShowYourCode uses ads.txt to verify its publisher relationship with Google. While the site is being reviewed, Google advertising code is not loaded globally. If advertising is enabled later, it will appear only on approved editorial pages—not account, private, editor, raw share, or unreviewed user-content pages.

Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, measure, limit, and personalize advertising. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage personalization in Google Ads Settings.

Where required, advertising and optional analytics will remain disabled until a visitor makes a choice through a consent platform. Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland will receive the controls required by Google's EU User Consent Policy before personalized advertising is requested.

Sharing and processors

We share only the information needed by providers that host the service, store files, deliver email, process payments, prevent abuse, or measure performance. We may also disclose information to comply with law, protect users, or enforce our terms. Providers process information under their own terms and our instructions where applicable.

Public works

Anything intentionally published through a share link can be viewed by people who receive that link. Public Gallery inclusion requires editorial review. Do not publish secrets, personal data, private source code, authentication tokens, or material you do not have permission to share.

Retention, security, and your rights

We retain information only while it is needed for the purposes above, account administration, dispute handling, and legal requirements. We use encrypted transport and access controls, but no online system is perfectly secure. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection.
